Of soft beauty

O! Meliae, deity of honey and
ash tree,
you take whiffs of wind
and stream,
with- gently touch the hive
and branch. …
you clear the brier for
fallow deer,
you clear the tangled wilderness;
you bring rain
to white blossoming clover,
leaf and
limb in ash for feathered sparrow,
you perform
glistening plays in dark wood;
in the hollow
the primrose sings- O! Meliae,
of soft beauty.
